Part-time Nurse Practitioner needed to provide medical care including diagnosis and treatment of occupational and non occupational health problems to the employee/patient in accordance with state law. These clinicians report to the Manager of Medical Clinics. Reports to Manager Medical Clinics Part-time with Flexible hours Monday - Friday

Key Accountabilities:

Clinical Operations

Maintain confidentiality in accordance with PB policy, federal and state regulations.Practice in a professional and friendly manner at all times. Provide assistance as necessary to fellow staff members in the care of patients and functioning of clinic operations.Assess the health status of employee/patients through interview, complete health histories, physical examination and diagnostic tests.Interpret clinical and diagnostic findings to determine appropriate disposition and appropriate therapeutic measures.Provide acute, immediate care to employee/patients for occupational and non occupational illnesses and injuries.Maintain current knowledge of health care research in order to deliver best practice evidence based medicine.Develop a plan of care based on identified needs and acute and chronic health problems.Refer the employee/patient to his/her primary care provider, specialist or emergency department as appropriate in the management of their health problem.Provide emergency treatment per protocols until ambulance transport arrives.Delegate interventions for the employee/patient to the occupational health nurse and supervise their treatments.Provide and coordinate care to employee/patients with chronic health conditions.Contribute to the development of clinic policies, procedures and protocols.Perform on site testing: EKG, Pulmonary Function testing, Vision testing, finger stick glucose testing, urine dipstick testing, flourescein eye testing, Quick Strep A testing, Quick Flu testing, Urine Pregnancy testing.Perform tests to be sent to the laboratory: Pre-Employment urine drug testing, throat cultures, venipuncture for blood specimens.Complete appropriate paperwork for Work related injuries/illnesses.Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinic Manager on special projects and carrying out the objectives of the Employee Medical Wellness Clinics.Collaborate with other departments (absence management, safety, human resources, and facilities) within Pitney Bowes for the improved health and safety of all employees.Document all employee/patient encounters and in the EMR.Refer to EAP and other appropriate specialists as needed.Maintain current CPR and AED training.Participate as an active member in the Quality Assurance Committee.


Implement Wellness Programs on site in a timely manner.Perform health and wellness screenings and follow up counseling to employee/patients.Provide disease management counseling (Hypertension, Diabetes program LWWD) and risk reduction counseling (tobacco treatment and weight loss - Change One).Develop relationships with local physicians as resources for specialty clinic providers and patient referrals.Promote all monthly wellness activities to employee/patients during clinic visitsRefer employee/patients to available on site Health and Fitness Centers.Create and update health education displays to promote healthy behaviors to all employees and clinic patients.Promote National Wellness Programs for employee/patientsPromote and support the EAP ProgramAssist Medical Secretaries and Medical Assistants with wellness responsibilitiesCreate and support team environment with wellness and clinic staff.

  • Successful completion of degree from a certified NP program.
  • Active New York State License, DEA license.
  • Current BLS/AED certification Active Blood borne Pathogen training Active HIPPA training
